El Wasserstrassenkreuz o puente acuífero de Magdeburgo

Igual ya lo conocíais, pero se trata de una obra de ingeniería poco común, hasta el punto que mucha gente no cree se que existe hasta ver las imágenes o visitarlo. Es el puente acuífero de Magdeburgo, en Alemania, que une directamente dos canales por encima del río Elba.

Esta gigantesca obra de ingeniería, de casi un kilómetro de largo, 34 metros de largo y más de cuatro de profundidad se construyó entre 1997 y 2003 para conectar directamente dos importantes canales del sistema alemán, el Elba-Havel y el Mittellandkanal. Es, además de una infraestructura espectacular, un centro de atención turística con caminos para que peatones y ciclistas puedan recorrerlo.
